Diazepam Days: A Poem

**This poem contains heavy references to misuse of medication.  PLEASE PROCEED ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITHT HE SUBJECT MATTER**

There are small yellow pills

Prescribed freely,

At will,

Which make me feel numb.

Take three every day,

The Psychiatrist said.

But that’s not enough

To make my body feel dead.

So I’ve increased it to four

Against all advice.

Because to feel nothing at all,

Is awfully nice.
